Lab Member Spotlight: Leah Cohn

We asked first year in the iArt Lab, Leah Cohn, to reflect on four questions as she begins her time in this program.

1. What are you most excited about as you enter the program?
I’m genuinely excited to be back in an academic environment after a few years away from formal education. I look forward to diving into the field of clinical psychology and getting to know my cohort and professors better.

2. Why WPU?
WPU was an obvious choice for me. The PsyD program not only meets rigorous APA standards, but the professionalism and dedication of the faculty truly stood out to me. It's a bonus that the school is conveniently close by to me.

3. What are your research interests, if any, at this point in time?
I’ve been fortunate to work in various research settings with diverse clinical populations over the years. Currently, I’m particularly interested in mood and anxiety disorders, specifically research related to acute suicidal depression and PTSD, as well as exploring improved treatment modalities.

4. What is your favorite hobby or a fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that just a few weeks into my first semester in the PsyD program, I gave birth to my first child. While balancing parenthood and graduate studies can be stressful, I’m excited to embark on these new journeys.
